We were formerly BM Publish but decided to go the indigenous route by changing our name to Labarin – a new literary publisher based in Nigeria bent on using new ways and dialects to tell our stories. We are currently seeking submissions from writers, artists, illustrators, photographers, gallery owners, art enthusiasts, poets, around Nigeria, Africa and the world in Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa.
Labarin is keen to let people tell their stories no matter where they come from. There is no particular theme for this submission call. So, writers, and visual artists are allowed to be as creative as ever. We seek to publish the best works in fiction, nonfiction, poetry and artworks.
For fiction, we seek short stories of no more than 1000 words; at most six poems to be separated by titles on different pages; nonfiction should be no more than 1000 words. Both fiction and nonfiction should be formatted as: 12pt Times New Roman, double-spacing, with page numbers. Poetry should be formatted in any style of choice but must be eligible to be read.
Submissions should be sent in as word attachment, with a cover letter specifying nationality and profile.
